about The Muslim Voice

How TMV began

The Muslim Voice (TMV) was established in 2024 by the founders, Muhammad Khan and Safia Aslam. They are passionate about mental health and helping others to live a life worth living.

TMV is a pioneering initiative which runs each week on Wednesdays. The online Zoom sessions are the first online Muslim peer support group in the UK.

TMV caters for both male and females as a lot of people are more comfortable talking about their experiences in front of their own gender.

TMV are supported by CHARM, an advocacy group and the Ethnic Health Forum. They are also supported by a renowned psychologist and a Mufti (Islamic scholar) too.

The aim of this initiative is to fight against shame and stigma and replace it with respect and dignity for Muslims who hear voices or suffer with other mental health challenges.
